Safe Families Orlando
Safe Families for Children – Orlando surrounds families in crisis with caring, compassionate community. We are a nonprofit, volunteer movement serving the greater Orlando area. We create extended family–like supports for struggling, isolated families through a community of devoted volunteers who are motivated to keep children safe and keep families together.

Chapter Director
Megan Hood

Megan Hood is the Chapter Director for Safe Families for Children in Orlando, Florida, where she leads efforts to support families in crisis with compassion, dignity, and community-based care. A 2007 graduate of Lee University, Megan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Bible, and she is currently pursuing her Master’s in Social Work, in hopes of obtaining her LCSW. She is a certified Mental Health Coach through the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC) and an active member of both the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and the North American Association of Christians in Social Work (NACSW).
With over a decade of experience in social services, Megan has worked extensively in foster care and adoption, juvenile justice, and family crisis intervention. Megan's faith based approach has developed partnerships and strong ties to local churches. Her leadership is marked by her strengths in conflict resolution, public speaking, writing, and event planning. Megan has been a featured guest speaker at numerous ministry events, where she shares her insights on faith, family restoration, and leadership. She is also a published author, using her voice and experience to inspire and equip others in both professional and faith-based contexts.
Church Engagement Director
Jordan Lancaster

Jordan Lancaster is the Church Engagement Coordinator for Safe Families for Children in Orlando, Florida, seeking to mobilize the local church to love and serve the most vulnerable children in our community. Recently graduating from Covenant College with a BA in Biblical and Theological studies and a minor in Missions, Jordan is currently pursuing her MDiv at Reformed Theological Seminary. She is convinced that the hope of the gospel and the community of the local church are God’s primary means of rescue, restoration, and redemption for hurting children, and she longs to see congregations live out that calling together.
Intake Coordinator & Family Coach Supervisor
Gabriela Rodriguez

Gabriela Rodriguez serves as the Intake Coordinator & Family Coach Supervisor for the Orlando Chapter of Safe Families, where she is dedicated to supporting families and volunteers through compassionate guidance, thoughtful supervision, and strength-based care. In her role, she oversees the intake process, mentors family coaches, and ensures families receive responsive, ethical, and community-centered support during difficult seasons. Her work is shaped by her faith and a belief in the value of community and authentic connection.

As an Orlando native, Gabriela brings a deep understanding of the local community and strong commitment to family preservation and trauma-informed practice. She believes in meeting families where they are while empowering them to build resilience, stability, and hope. She is fluent in Spanish and values language accessibility as an essential part of family-centered support. Gabriela holds a Bachelor's in Social Work and is currently pursuing her Master's in Social Work with the goal of becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
